1st Line Support

Location:Guildford, Surrey
Salary:£24000 - £26000 per annum

We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced 1st Line technician to join our client’s busy Tech Support Team. This is an industry leading company and you will be working on the service desk to diagnose and solve technical queries in order to support their customers across the UK and EMEA region.

This is an established manufacturer, distributor, and support centre for a number of companies across UK and abroad and are one of the fastest expanding companies in their area of expertise, with a customer base covering both commercial and corporate settings.


  • 1st line technical support
  • Ensure all customer tickets are logged into the support desk system
  • Gather all relevant information and ensure all necessary data has been provided for troubleshooting
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Engage with Customers after initial diagnosis and ensure all relevant data has been gathered
  • Resolve and close tickets within the terms of the SLA & Support Contracts
  • Keep the Customer updated on progress at all times
  • Escalation of complex tickets to the appropriate senior member of the team

Qualification & Experience:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Broader understanding of hardware, software & technical concepts
  • 2+ years direct 1st line experience in a challenging, fast paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to self-motivate, prioritise, and manage own workload
  • The ability to grasp technical concepts and new product functionality quickly
  • The ability to discuss complex hardware & software issues with customers of varying technical ability & understanding
