Analyst

Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity for a professional Analyst to join our friendly, corporate client who are in the Financial Services sector. The role will sit in the management team and will involve developing and generating standard operational and client data to proactively monitor and manage as well as performing data culling and analysis to support current and future business needs including migrations of new clients.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining the central Database and related Power BI dashboards and extract reporting, ensuring quality and integrity at all times.
• Mining and extracting data from different internal sources / systems, e.g. data warehouse, Policy data marts and various other sources.
• Create ad-hoc analytics, reports and account level dashboards as required by senior management in relation to data and litigation bill review.
• Analyse key performance indicators (KPI’s) to understand / monitor trends in the underlying data and apply to the product life cycle.
• Assist with the production and submission of returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis or as and when ad-hoc requests are received.
• Responsible for analysing product data.
• Assist with the data integration of newly acquired portfolios to ensure consistent reporting and data quality / integrity.
• Assist with other aspects of data-related analysis and reporting as required, including supporting the US Product Data & MI team
• In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties as required.

Person Specification

• Strong analytical skills in order to identify trends in data and then design and implement improvement strategies in order to find pragmatic solutions
• Mental agility, able to think innovatively. A bright individual who can and provide constructive input and show the ability to investigate, question, explore and innovate
• Able to demonstrate a range of oral and written communication skills. Someone who is able to present views in a professional way to a variety of stakeholders who have differing needs with regard to content and the level of detail

 

Technical Knowledge & Understanding Proficient user of Power BI with experience of developing dashboards. An applied understanding of (SQL) and database architecture. Market awareness and knowledge in dealing with other industry parties, to understand the issues impacting the market generally, and an ability to show market intelligence Working knowledge of systems: Lloyds CRS, IBM Cognos Intermediate to advanced level of use and understanding of MS software including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point Familiarity with statistical concepts

Experience

Previous experience of working in insurance markets beneficial but not essential. Professional Qualifications – Preferable
