Compliance Manager – Guildford Outskirts

£25,000 – £35,000

Our client is seeking a Compliance Manager to join their successful team. Established in 2011 with their hub/head office set in beautiful woodlands, with luxury offices this is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the company’s processing operations, information systems, data security processes and needs, administrative rules and procedures
  • Support and co-ordinate focus on and promote a culture of awareness of data security throughout the company
  • Working closely with colleagues as required to identify areas of weakness in relation to data compliance processes and procedures
  • Develop policies and procedures in line with legislation, terms and conditions of service and best practice
  • Develop and manage the company’s data protection strategy in the UK and globally
  • Act as a focal point for all activity within the company relating to data protection
  • Prepare audit information and act as a point of contact for the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office, providing access to documents and information as required)
  • Set up Health and Safety Committee meetings as required
  • Set up Environmental meetings as required
  • Report as required on data protection compliance and associated risks
  • Liaise with Trading Standards as required and produce required reports
  • Respect and uphold confidentiality, as appropriate and in line with data protection law, in carrying out all duties of the role
  • Deal with all queries in a polite and timely manner
  • Undertake Head Office risk assessments as required and follow up actions as necessary
  • Carry out due diligence in respect of external contractors
  • As required, provide input on the data protection implications of projects
  • Undertake any additional tasks as necessary to keep the company compliant with data protection law

Person Specification

  • Ability to follow through and monitor Improvement plan progress
  • Have good IT skills, proficient with Word and familiar with excel although not essential.
  • Good communicator, positive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Self-motivated, Resilient, Good eye for detail
  • Excellent time management skills, to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Have previous experience in a compliance role
  • Enthusiastic and pleasant individual – happy to take on ad hoc tasks
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-moving and fast-growing company environment
