Education, Records & Attendance Officer

Responsible for the provision of an effective and efficient administration service to the Education department.

Policy and Leadership:

  • To have a good working knowledge and understanding of all school policies especially those relating to child protection and
  • Working within the learning team, ensure all policies are vigorously adhered to in practice particularly in relation to health and safety and security to minimise risks to the school, the staff and the
  • Working within the framework of the school’s policies and procedures to always apply the highest standards of accountability, ethics and confidentiality to all work practices.
  • To mentor and provide support and guidance to less experienced members of the learning team, sharing gained
  • Engage with the schools Performance Management programme to ensure own continued professional
  • To attend and contribute to staff meetings as required by the
  • Administer all elements of the student review process; producing timetables of meetings, sending invitations including and liaising with staff and parents. Rescheduling meetings as necessary,
  • SKYPE/Zoom meetings – set up parent on SKYPE or Zoom, book venue/laptops as required, confirm to parents/teachers/IT technician details of meeting/user name and issue ‘draft’ documents to parents prior to

Attendance:

  • Monitor student attendance, updating the student registers as needed and following up student absence as per the school’s attendance
  • Issue, record and store exclusion
  • Complete transport claims and issue to local authority for
  • Planned Student Absence – Issue planned absence form and arrange for request to be authorised,
  • Provide support to the Office Administrator on the circulation of letters regarding school trips and collate
  • Annually set up new academic years and set up classes on

Other:

  • Organise student school photographs, issue proofs to families and co-ordinate orders and payments as
  • Maintain and upkeep of the staff and resources
  • Carry out routine admin tasks i.e. filing, production of spreadsheets, reports and forms, photocopying and undertaking project/research work if
  • Carry out confidential filing making sure these files are held securely and released to authorised personnel
  • Undertake other tasks as reasonably correspond to the grade and the general character of the post. To carry out other reasonable requests made by the Principal and Governors.

  • Ensure that all data and records produced are stored securely and
  • Maintain good IT skills, using effectively all school admin systems to better the work of the education admin team.
