Technical Sales Advisor

Our client is a manufacturer who is a direct sales and marketing company with ambitious growth and profitability targets. The internal sales team delivers this growth through a solution-based sales approach across inbound and outbound sales calls, underpinned by excellent technical product and application advice.

The Role

As Technical Sales Advisor, you will join the sales team to promote, upsell and cross-sell products to existing customers and new prospects. You will be responsible for achieving and exceeding individual and team sales targets, which are measured daily, monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed individual sales targets and KPIs, including average order value, up-sell, and quote conversion
  • Deliver a consistently high volume and high standard of sales calls, with existing and prospective customers to result in a sale or measurable interaction
  • Manage all inbound customer interactions across the phone, email, live chat and social media, providing general product, application and sales support
  • Convert inbound enquiries to a sale or quote, using a solution-selling approach to understand the customer’s needs and advise on product solutions
  • Generate new leads though outbound sales calls to existing customers or to new prospective customers, securing sales-qualified leads and sales conversions
  • Think creatively and act pro-actively to generate new business enquiries and leads. Develop relationships with existing customers to maximise conversion and repeat business
  • Manage and deliver outbound activity, following-up on leads, quotes, enquiries, and lifecycle management calls until converted or closed
  • Close and process orders, cross-selling and up-selling by offering similar and complimentary products as part of the consultative selling and order confirmation process
  • Provide excellent technical product advice, up-selling customer from our Basics to Core to Specialist product ranges
  • Ensure the database is kept up to date with all interactions, to maximise opportunities and maintain a well-managed sales pipeline

Experience, competencies, and skills:

  • Minimum 1 year’s sales experience
  • Demonstrable track record of hitting sales targets and achieving KPIs
  • Self-motivated and results driven, takes responsibility for achieving their workload
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build connections over the phone
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to actively listen and pitch response accordingly
  • Experience of technical products would be advantageous
