Finance Manager

Location:Godalming
Salary:£50,000 - £75,000 Per Annum DOE

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, providing accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring the business maintains strong financial controls and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day-to-day finance function and overseeing financial operations.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Monitoring budgets, forecasts and cash flow to support business planning.
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end financial processes.
  • Producing financial analysis and reports to support senior management decision-making.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Managing payroll, VAT returns and other statutory requirements where required.
  • Liaising with external accountants, auditors and financial advisors.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies.
  • Supporting senior leadership with budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities.

Experience and Skills Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Part-qualified, qualified or qualified by experience (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience preparing management accounts and financial analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proactive and commercial mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members would be advantageous.
