The Role
This is a hands-on, commercially focused Management Accountant role, playing a key part in strengthening financial control, insight and decision-making across a growing business.
You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality management reporting, forecasting, cash flow optimisation, and financial analysis to support leadership and drive sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Management Reporting & Insight
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis and commentary.
- Produce board-level financial packs including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, KPIs, and risk indicators.
- Support senior stakeholders ahead of board meetings by explaining results, forecasts, and financial implications.
- Take ownership of the monthly financial pack, ensuring clarity and relevance at executive level.
Forecasting, Budgeting & Scenario Planning
- Maintain rolling forecasts and detailed cash flow projections.
- Build scenario-based financial models to support strategic and commercial decision-making.
- Support the annual budgeting process with robust financial analysis.
- Provide forward-looking insight to identify risks and opportunities early.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Optimisation
- Drive improvements in credit control processes to reduce debtor days.
- Actively manage collections performance and overdue balances.
- Support early payment incentives, late payment strategies, and pricing tools.
- Improve visibility and control over working capital and borrowing costs.
Financial Control, Compliance & Audit
- Maintain the integrity of the nominal ledger and financial postings.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
- Coordinate audit queries and prepare year-end schedules.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end audit processes.
- Strengthen financial controls to support ongoing business growth.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Work with integrated finance, CRM, and timesheet systems.
- Improve automation, reporting accuracy, and data consistency.
- Identify and implement scalable process improvements.
- Support the ongoing review and optimisation of finance systems.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Essential
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience producing monthly management accounts.
- Strong cash flow forecasting and financial modelling skills.
- Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience within a contractor-based, services, or fast-paced commercial environment.
- Exposure to integrated finance and CRM systems.
- Experience improving credit control and working capital performance.
- Background supporting growing or scaling organisations.
