Sales and Operations Assistant 

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic, driven and organised Sales & Operations Assistant to join their small and friendly team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities through targeted sales activity and marketing initiatives.
  • Managing the full sales process from initial enquiry and lead generation through quotation, negotiation, follow-up and conversion.
  • Approaching dormant accounts to maximise conversions.
  • Developing new business through proactive sales & marketing initiatives.
  • Preparing quotations, following up on leads & sales opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining strong customer & supplier relationships.
  • Managing stock, availability, deliveries/collections to and from customer(s) sites.
  • Updating the CRM/ Customer database daily to ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Resolving customer and delivery issues, escalating where necessary and providing excellent customer support.
  • Supporting the wider team with day-to-day sales and operational administration.
  • Developing wider industry knowledge of products, pricing, availability and delivery processes.

Experience and Skills Requirements

  • Ideally, a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar or office-based role.
  • Confident telephone manner with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commercially minded and interested in developing their sales skills.
  • Good understanding of quoting, pricing, sales orders and delivery coordination
  • Excellent IT skills and computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office, Excel and databases.
  • Reliable, self-motivated and can work as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy and organisation.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Quickly adapt to new techniques, processes, technology and other ways of working.
  • Keen to learn and develop within a growing business.
