Social Media Manager

You’ll be responsible for driving the direction of social media activity across a varied client portfolio while managing and developing a small team. This role is as much about leadership and decision-making as it is about campaign delivery — ideal for someone who enjoys taking accountability, shaping strategy, and elevating team output.

Key Responsibilities:
Leading the Function
- Take full ownership of social media delivery across multiple client accounts
- Define best practices, processes, and standards across the social team
- Act as the go-to expert for all things social, internally and externally
Managing & Developing People
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2, supporting both performance and progression
- Create structure, set expectations, and drive accountability within the team
- Encourage a high-performance culture with a focus on quality and continuous improvement
Driving Client Success
- Build strong, credible relationships with clients as a trusted advisor
- Lead conversations around strategy, performance, and growth opportunities
- Ensure campaigns deliver against commercial objectives, not just engagement metrics
Strategy & Execution
- Shape and oversee social strategies across key platforms
- Ensure content is purposeful, on-brand, and aligned with wider marketing activity
- Balance hands-on involvement with strategic oversight where needed
Performance & Optimisation
- Own reporting, insights, and performance reviews
- Use data to inform decisions and continually refine approach
- Identify opportunities to improve results and scale successful activity
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Strong experience in social media, ideally within a fast-paced or agency environment
- Proven ability to manage or lead a team — this is essential
- Confident decision-maker who can take ownership and drive outcomes
- Commercially aware, with a focus on delivering measurable impact
- Excellent communicator, comfortable managing stakeholders at all levels
- A balance of creativity and analytical thinking
- Hands-on knowledge of key social platforms and tools
Desirable
- Experience working across multiple brands or industries
- Exposure to integrated campaigns with wider marketing teams
- Formal marketing or digital qualifications
