About the Role

You’ll be responsible for driving the direction of social media activity across a varied client portfolio while managing and developing a small team. This role is as much about leadership and decision-making as it is about campaign delivery — ideal for someone who enjoys taking accountability, shaping strategy, and elevating team output.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading the Function

  • Take full ownership of social media delivery across multiple client accounts
  • Define best practices, processes, and standards across the social team
  • Act as the go-to expert for all things social, internally and externally

Managing & Developing People

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2, supporting both performance and progression
  • Create structure, set expectations, and drive accountability within the team
  • Encourage a high-performance culture with a focus on quality and continuous improvement

Driving Client Success

  • Build strong, credible relationships with clients as a trusted advisor
  • Lead conversations around strategy, performance, and growth opportunities
  • Ensure campaigns deliver against commercial objectives, not just engagement metrics

Strategy & Execution

  • Shape and oversee social strategies across key platforms
  • Ensure content is purposeful, on-brand, and aligned with wider marketing activity
  • Balance hands-on involvement with strategic oversight where needed

Performance & Optimisation

  • Own reporting, insights, and performance reviews
  • Use data to inform decisions and continually refine approach
  • Identify opportunities to improve results and scale successful activity

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Strong experience in social media, ideally within a fast-paced or agency environment
  • Proven ability to manage or lead a team — this is essential
  • Confident decision-maker who can take ownership and drive outcomes
  • Commercially aware, with a focus on delivering measurable impact
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable managing stakeholders at all levels
  • A balance of creativity and analytical thinking
  • Hands-on knowledge of key social platforms and tools

Desirable

  • Experience working across multiple brands or industries
  • Exposure to integrated campaigns with wider marketing teams
  • Formal marketing or digital qualifications
